Archer CountyTexas Teen and Adult Drivers Ed: All versions are available here. Teen “in the car” training, online class, or parent taught course. You can get your learners permit by taking the online class, then the actual driving part must be completed with your parent or guardian or one of our local Archer County, Texas instructors.
1. Texas Parent-Taught Drivers Education for Archer County Residents
(Ages 14-17)
Complete both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training under the supervision of a parent or guardian, all from home. This puts the parent in charge, and gives families peace of mind. DPS/TDLR approved.
2. Texas Instructor-Led Drivers Ed for Archer County
(Ages 14-17)
Utilizing interactive features, animations, videos and audio narration throughout, this course will help you develop lifelong safe-driving habits that could save lives, especially your own. TEA/TDLR approved.
3. Texas Adult Online Drivers Ed for Archer County

Choosing a Driver Education Course
Teens
Individuals under 18 years of age are required to complete a driver education course
and present the Texas Driver Education Certificate (DE-964) at the DPS driver license office.
When applying for a license, the driving test is required. The knowledge test will be waived if it was completed during the driver education course.
NOTE: An individual may start the classroom phase of a driver education course at 14 years of age but cannot apply for a learner’s permit license until he/she is at least 15 years of age.
There are three types of driver education for teens:
- A traditional driver education course offered by a driver training school
- Parent-taught driver education (PTDE)
- Driver education offered in public school
Regulation of Driver Education Schools, Driver Safety Schools, Course Providers and Instructors, and the Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) program was transferred to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Driver Education options are available at Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Driver Education and Safety.
If you’re between 18 and 25, you’ll need to complete this state-required Texas drivers education course. If you’re over 25, this is a great way to complete your testing requirements in advance. TEA/TDLR approved.
This Texas drivers ed school is for teens ages 14-17. There is also a class for Adults aged 18-24 who has yet to get their drivers license.
The course is an easy follow along video enhanced animated instructional class. The classroom part of drivers ed is taken all online. It’s a step by step program and video guided throughout the entire course.
To get your Texas Drivers License learner’s permit students are generally asked to take the driver ed online class that includes both classroom time and driving time with a parent or guardian. This is a driver ed program that allow teenagers to complete this requirement from their home.
