Saint Clair County Michigan Basic Driver Improvement (BDI, BDIC) School – Michigan Driver Points Removal Course –
You can have up to 3 points removed from your driving record for SOS civil moving violations such as speeding tickets . If you have received a letter from the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office
advising you that you have excess driving points on your driving record, you can take this course to have points removed or reduced.

With the court’s permission, you may be able to dismiss a speeding or traffic violation ticket by completing the Michigan bdic class. Additionally, you may be able to earn an insurance discount on your auto insurance policy for taking the course voluntarily; contact your auto insurance provider for more details.

The Saint Clair County Michigan Basic Driver Improvement (BDI, BDIC) School
is an option to keep your ticket from being reported as a conviction on your driving record. The ticket points may be dismissed if all requirements are successfully met. If all requirements are not completed by the 60 day due date, a conviction will be entered and the charge will be reported to the Secretary of State. Not all violations are approved for BDIC. See FAQ below.
Under Michigan law, insurance companies use a separate point system for evaluating violations. If you take and pass the optional BDIC, the Secretary of State will not disclose the ticket to your insurance company.
